Fotoessa attended the excellent talk by Giannis Makridakis, a prolific author, genuine ecologist, experienced activist and active citizen from Chios, held in the packed hall of the Cultural Association “Fokaeon Politeia” in Palaia Fokaia, Municipality of Saronikos, on 3 March 2026. Giannis Makridakis vividly shared with us valuable experiences, knowledge and inspiration about humanity's vital relationship with the natural environment and the efforts to raise citizens' awareness and mobilise them to protect it. Fotoessa was represented by Giannis Sourelis (co-founder and Project Manager) and Aspasia Protogerou (Head of Educational Programmes and Intercultural Educator). We are grateful for this talk and its contribution to the European Erasmus KA2 programme “Guardians of the Coasts”, implemented by Fotoessa with the Portuguese organisation Aequalitas.
